Ki Young Ju says TRUMP-linked wallets extracted $779 million to $1.16 billion, but EmberCN counted $249 million sent to exchanges and Reuters put the Trump family’s take at $616 million.

Key Takeaways

Ju’s range: $779 million to $1.16 billion.
EmberCN counted $249 million sent to exchanges.
Reuters estimated $616 million for the family.
The three counts measure different things.

In an October 17 post, the founder of on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant wrote that “the team behind $TRUMP extracted $779M to $1.16B from buyers,” and added that buyers are down 97%. The estimates now in circulation aren’t rivals: each counts something different over a different period.

Ju’s chart: $779.4M confirmed (solid) and about $1.16B upper bound (dashed), January 2025 to October 2026. Chart: Ki Young Ju / CryptoQuant.

Three counts of one token

Ju’s chart covers January 1, 2025 to October 1, 2026. According to Finbold’s reading of it, the confirmed line, $779.4 million, combines stablecoin outflows with TRUMP sent to labelled exchanges. The dashed upper line adds tokens sent to unlabelled custody or external addresses. That top slice is about $381 million. Ju’s post doesn’t list the wallets, TokenPost noted.

EmberCN’s count is narrower. On October 3 the on-chain analyst reported that team-linked wallets sent about 81.87 million TRUMP to exchanges including Binance and OKX over the previous eight months, about $249 million at an average price near $3.04, CCN reported. It counts tokens deposited, not proceeds.

Reuters’ figure is a different measure again. Its June 9 investigation estimated that the Trump family made about $616 million from TRUMP, out of roughly $1.2 billion in revenue the coin generated, and that buyers lost more than $700 million as of April 30. It runs through April 30, 2026 and counts the family’s share, not every project-linked wallet.

EmberCN$249M of tokens sent

Reuters$616M of about $1.2B

Periods: Ju, January 1, 2025 to October 1, 2026; EmberCN, about eight months to October 3, 2026; Reuters, through April 30, 2026. The dashed outline is the roughly $1.2 billion Reuters says the coin generated.

The windows overlap and the measures differ, so the figures can’t be added together.

What Ju’s chart counts, and the flat line

On the chart, the confirmed line rises in steps through 2025 and then flattens, as Finbold also describes, while the dashed line keeps rising. EmberCN’s $249 million of deposits falls in the eight months to October 3, 2026. If those deposits were in the confirmed line, it should have kept climbing through 2026, so on their face the two datasets don’t line up. The deposits may sit in the dashed line, the two analysts may be tracking different wallets, or the line may not be as flat as it looks. Without Ju’s wallet list there is no way to tell which.

The chart also doesn’t show how a transfer became a dollar figure. A deposit isn’t a sale: it can also support liquidity provision, custody or collateral use, CCN noted. The example below shows how much the answer moves with the price used.

Who the site says owns it

“Team” in these estimates points to the entities the official site says hold the 80% of supply set aside for creators. It names them and says who receives the trading revenue.

CIC DIGITAL LLC

An affiliate of The Trump Organization, the site says. Together with Fight Fight Fight it holds the 80% allocation, on a three-year unlock, and it receives trading revenue.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT LLC

Co-holds the 80%. Its owner, Celebration Cards LLC, receives trading revenue and uses the TRUMP name and Donald Trump’s likeness under a limited licence.

THE SITE’S DISCLAIMER

The site says TRUMP isn’t distributed or sold by Donald Trump, The Trump Organization or their affiliates or principals.

The site says who holds the allocation and who receives revenue. Reuters estimated what the family took. Our earlier look at the companies behind TRUMP’s allocation and revenue arrangements covers the roles in more detail.

How much is left

TRUMP has a maximum supply of 1 billion: 200 million available at launch in January 2025, and the rest released over 36 months, according to the site. EmberCN’s figure of about 718 million tokens still with the team is the 800 million allocation minus the 81.87 million it counted, so it includes tokens that may not have unlocked yet.

■ About 718M still with the team (EmberCN estimate)

CoinMarketCap’s circulating supply of 281.86 million is almost exactly the 200 million from launch plus EmberCN’s 81.87 million, a match that suggests the two track the same tokens, though neither source says so. The project said in its July 15 update that about 67% of supply had unlocked. CoinMarketCap counts about 28% as circulating, which leaves at least about 39% of supply unlocked but not counted as circulating.

The same update said that less than 9.6% of total supply, drawn only from tokens that had already unlocked, is expected to be deployed, sold, distributed or otherwise monetised over the coming months. It also said that about 5% of previously unlocked tokens had been deployed, sold, distributed or monetised since the February update. Its listed purposes include partnerships, acquisitions, opportunistic dispositions and ecosystem initiatives. At $1.70, 96 million tokens would be about $163 million.

For scale, 718 million tokens at $1.70 is about $1.2 billion on paper. It is also 2.5 times the circulating supply, and at the last 24 hours’ volume of about 136 million tokens ($231 million), more than five days of total trading. The paper value says little about what a sale would raise.

What the price does and doesn’t say

TRUMP traded near $1.70 on October 18, 97.7% below its $75 high of January 19, 2025, according to CoinMarketCap. That is the decline for a buyer at the peak, and it matches Ju’s “down 97%.” No source here gives an average across buyers. Reuters put buyers’ losses, realised and unrealised, at more than $700 million as of April 30, and CoinMarketCap lists about 689,000 holders.

Today’s price is also 44% below the $3.04 average at which EmberCN valued the team’s exchange transfers. And a fall in market value isn’t cash taken out: CoinMarketCap’s $480 million market cap is a price multiplied by the circulating supply.

One wallet list and two November dates

The project publishes a daily unlock schedule on its site. If Ju publishes his wallet list, comparing it with the addresses EmberCN tracked would show whether the two counts follow the same wallets. The site’s Coin Club also runs holder leaderboards. The next snapshot is November 12, ahead of a November 22 gala dinner in Washington, and the site says selling an entire position removes a holder from all active leaderboards.

The first thing to settle is which wallets are in each count. Until then, the three numbers answer three different questions: what moved to exchanges, what flowed to project-linked wallets, and what the Trump family took.
